DanChurchAid (DCA) would like to employ a self-motivated and competent professional to fill the position of Livelihoods Assistant working in Bidibidi, Yumbe, Uganda

Position Summary:

Working under the responsibility of the Livelihoods Officer, Livelihoods Assistant will support all livelihoods activities under the UNHCR funded project in BidiBidi Refugee settlement.

The activities include VLSAs, IGAs, cash for work, capacity building of farmers and provision of agric-inputs.

Furthermore, the Livelihoods Assistant will support cash-based interventions, including vouchers for agric-inputs, protection grants to farmers, data collection, including baseline, post distribution monitoring using digital tools, market prices, and market complaints handling using MMT.

He/she will also be responsible for commodity quality control, troubleshoot any vendor interface challenges, and assist beneficiaries in market transaction.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Identification, registration and verification of beneficiaries, working together with staff in Cash and Markets interventions and in Livelihoods.

Effectively implement the day to day activities according to work plans and technical standards

Participate in Zonal coordination meetings

Assist in trainings with target beneficiaries in livelihoods activities

Actively take part in trainings at field level

Actively mobilize beneficiaries

Monitor and document DCA’s livelihood activities

Produce reports to contribute to the weekly, monthly and other reports

Qualifications & requirements:

B.Sc. in Agriculture, Economics and or business development or related field

Experience working with livelihoods especially VLSAs, IGAS, supporting farmers

At least three-year relevant work experience especially in refugee settlements

Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint) with ability to work with data bases and statistical software packages

Understanding digital data collection using mobile monitoring technology (MMT)

Excellent communication skills and ability to write good reports

Understanding of the West Nile

context and local languages will be an added advantage.

Must possess a valid riding permit
