Yumbe /UgandaDanChurchAid (DCA) is currently seeking applications from eligible applicants for the post of Finance Officer in Yumbe, West Nile, Uganda.
Position Summary:
Under the supervisor of the Finance and Support Manager, the Finance Officer contributes to the efficient and effective financial and administrative management of the office in Yumbe and its outlet offices with a particular responsibility for the financial management of projects.
Responsibilities and duties:
Responsible for budgeting, financial quality assurance and monitoring and reporting of expenditures of projects.
Ensures that monthly account reconciliations are timely prepared.
Provide monthly updates, with brief analysis, on project budgets.
Support the Programme Officers and Project Managers in developing budgets for proposals.
Assist in ensuring all office financial tasks (project and office budget/operations) are completed/ accurately managed in agreement with the line supervisor.
Ensure that the Financial Manual rules and guidelines are followed.
Participate in training and building capacity of staff in basic financial management.
Keep updated on special donor financial requirements, including Danida, UNHCR and others.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a degree in B’COM (Accounting) or BBA( Accounting) and preferably with a CPA/ACCA accreditation
5 years of experience working in a similar role with an INGO
Proven capacity to prioritize tasks, plan and organize your own efforts to meet objectives and deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience in working with a partner based approach.
Attention to detail with strong analytical skills
Experience of working in Humanitarian sector is added advantage
