Position Summary: Oversee the Customer Service, Logistics and Demand Planning functions for South Africa
Lead efficient and high performing teams based in South Africa and support Southern Africa strategic, operational and revenue goals
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Build and develop a successful team with a customer centric attitude, high engagement and active participation. Motivate staff to ensure optimal alignment and performance
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, agility and high performance. Communicate the company vision and culture through words and actions, model company values
Create solutions, develop strategies and best practices to optimize the Customer Service, Logistics and Demand Planning teams, share knowledge and collaborate with peers and other functions across the US and EMEA regions
Communicate effectively and partner with the Commercial team to support the Commercial strategy and key growth projects
Drive Operational Excellence and ensure critical metrics are measured and reported
Drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, identify issues and implement effective and sustainable countermeasures using DBS tools
Implement and support team with the use of effective Visual Daily Management at Gemba to drive improvements in key metrics
Constantly reassess the efficiency of the controls to ensure that all transactions and made in line with Cepheid’s internal procedures and Danaher Compliance policies.
Coach, mentor, train and continually develop warehouse team and align 3PL partners with DBS strategies and operational management tools whenever possible
Manage 3PL relationships and company owned warehouses
Analyze distribution process and determine the most cost effective and/or efficient means of transporting goods; negotiate with suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency
Manage to
annual goals set for On Time Delivery (OTD)
Manage to annual goals set for Outbound Freight Recovery (OBFR)
Work with global and regional teams to ensure compliance with all quality standards
Training Responsibilities: (REQUIRED)
Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
Ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time
Minimum Requirements:
Education or Experience (in years):
Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of experience OR
Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience
Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or Business qualification
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required.
Previous experience with Lean Six Sigma desired
Experience with developing process documentation including flowcharts, SOPs and Standard Work Instructions.
Experience implementing and applying process improvement tools such as 5S and leading PSP- Problem Solving Process
Experience in working internationally in a fast-paced, reputable global Biotech / Pharmaceutical or Consumer company organized in a matrix structure.
Ability to travel potentially 15% of the time based on business need
Knowledge and skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel required.
Minimum 5 years of experience using SAP
Demonstrates people management skills and experience in creating and leading high performing teams
Operates with transparency and humility
Acts as a role model for high ethical standards and code of conduct
Strong organizational and problems solving skills - Customer focus and service oriented
Adept at building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and customers
Negotiating skills and a well-developed cost and quality awareness.
