Position Summary:

  • The Key Account Manager Public Sector will be responsible for Public Sector and HBDC sales in South Africa.

  • They will take strategic leadership for market development and achieve sales targets.

  • They should have the capability to work cross-functionally and be autonomous making good strategic decisions.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Achieve Sales and Growth targets for the RSA Public Sector market as agreed upon at the beginning of each year

  • Participate in all key meeting with the NHLS leadership, Department of Health both Nationally and Provincially in order to position Cepheid products for utilization across all targeted disease entities

  • Develop and implement the sales strategy and marketing messages for assigned Key Accounts by reviewing the Cepheid strategy, undertaking customer analysis, determining the best approach per key account and finalizing for roll out with key accounts annually and as required

  • Develop the mid and long-term growth strategy for Public Sector by reviewing historical trends, identifying growth opportunities and preparing the strategies annually

  • Initiate and implement promotional activities by engaging with Marketing, providing inputs and designing activities, submitting for approval and implementing as required

  • Grow business by reviewing the existing business environment, identifying and exploring possible opportunities and implementing plans as required

  • Proactively respond to market changes by actively monitoring the market, tracking customer movements and developing trends that can be integrated into solutions and responses for Cepheid as required

  • Provide customer support (internal and external) by maintaining customer focus, undertaking specific needs analysis and determining specific customer requirements on an ongoing basis

  • Manage correct and effective brand awareness at customer sites and offices by reviewing customer requirements, identifying opportunities, sourcing appropriate
    materials and placing with customers as required

  • Provide customer service excellence by identifying and tracking key responsible contacts, providing ongoing liaison with customers through contact, interactions and communications and responding to customers within the local legal and regulatory framework as required

  • Liaise with Cepheid support functions and coordinate actions effectively to continuously improve the level of customer service excellence Cepheid provides

  • Report any customer complaints by receiving the complaint, identifying additional information as relevant and forwarding to the appropriate platform for resolution as required

  • Negotiate conference and advertising participation by receiving the options, identifying additional opportunities, negotiating with the key customer and finalizing the agreement cost and participation level for Cepheid as required

    Training Responsibilities: (Required)

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

  • Ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Education or Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR

  • Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience

  • Sales Key Account Management experience in Diagnostics or Device industries would be an advantage

  • Experience in Healthcare and relevant post graduate qualification would be an advantage

    Knowledge and skills:

  • Ability to work in a team environment and across an organization to drive results. Must be sensitive to multicultural environments.

  • Enthusiasm, strong interpersonal and motivational skills; scalable to future assignments.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization including sales, service, technical support, marketing and business management functions

  • Excellent communication skills including verbal and written and presentation skills required, along with a strong financial and business acumen, flexibility and good judgement.
