Our client, seeks to recruit a Farm Manager.
Job Profile:
As a farm manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the farm, providing knowledge and support for animal nutrition and ensuring proper husbandry techniques and feeding programs are in place.
Key Accountabilities
Be in charge of a Dairy farm in all aspects of operations which includes General oversight, among others being in charge of all workers/staff welfare.
Responsible for production, breeding and the commercial excellence of the Dairy Farm.
Manage the purchasing, receiving, and monitoring of feed & forage and commodities.
Ensure profitable operations of the feedlot to optimize feeding parameters.
Oversee feedlot staff during day-to-day operations.
Ensure that the feedlot is clean and well maintained
Delegate workers to receive, weigh, inspect and transfer livestock.
Inspect equipment and perform minor repairs and maintenance as needed.
Prepare budgets and operational plans.
Ensure security of all assets including
land, livestock produce and inventories
Report feedlot performance on a weekly/ monthly basis.
Act as a good ambassador and market the company’s products.
Ensure the farm complies with county and national government regulation
Qualifications:
A Degree or Diploma in Animal Health Production, agribusiness or agricultural marketing or a related field and/or extensive related experience.
At least 3 years’ experience in Farm Management.
Having undertaken courses in Feed Lot management will be an added advantage.
