Dairy Development Authority Senior Accountant Jobs in Uganda

Objective of the job:

To prepare and maintain books of accounts and associated financial records, financial reports and directly supervise the revenue and expenditure and ensure accountability of the Authority’s funds

Functions:

Ensure the integrity of financial accounting systems required to ensure that financial management and accounting systems are maintained.

Participate in planning and budgeting processes to ensure that clear guidelines are available to the budget holders.

Ensure that accounts are accurately charged and coded to respective cost centers.

Ensure collection of Non-Tax Revenue (NTR) and reconciliation with URA system.

Prepare monthly management accounts and other periodic accounts required giving recommendations.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as may be required by the supervisor.

Ensure proper maintenance of all ledger Accounts.

Ensuring that all financial transactions are processed in timely manner and that expenses are adequately budgeted and accurately coded.

Prepare monthly Bank and Treasury General Account (TGA) reconciliation statements.

Administer an effective control system to ensure timely returns and reports.

Prepare commitment requisitions as transactions occur

and instant updating of the vote book among others.

Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Person Specifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting) or Bachelor of Science Accounting & Finance or Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from a recognized University.

Level 11 professional training in Accounting

Qualifications of ACCA/CPA.

At least 3 - years of working experience.

A Master’s degree is an added advantage
