CTG Child Protection Extender Jobs in South Sudan; The Child Protection Extender will have the basic function to ensure case management support for all children at risk of, or surviving from, significant, violence, deprivation, neglect, exploitation including children on the street, children with disabilities, children without parents, children who are being deprived of basic rights at the household level, children suffering physical or sexual abuse or exploitation & any other cases demonstrating significant protection threats. The Child Protection Extender will also provide case work supervision within our clients child protection partners throughout South Sudan & develop effective case work supervision within our partner organizations.
They will build capacity in case management through a range of mentoring, coaching, training, supervision & active case management processes. In critical cases, the Child Protection Extender will do case management in partnership with govt & NGO partners, taking responsibility to make sure that critical interventions are taken in a timely manner & in accordance with the best interests of the child. They will work under the technical supervision of the Child Protection Manager & the day to day supervision of the Chief Field Office & Child Protection Specialists & Officers.

With effective case management mentoring & supervision, we will see positive results for children experiencing child abuse, neglect, deprivation or at risk thereof.
Role objectives Implement case management systems in area of operation with government & NGO partners.
Conduct weekly case conversations with each agency under supervision (with the Program Manager, Senior Social Workers, Case Workers]).
Support the Case Supervisors in the supervision of the implementation of case plans, including follow ups & case plan revisions including keeping oversight of all cases that have been opened by the organization.
Support the Case Workers & Supervisors in monitoring the effectiveness of the case management implementation.
Support the Case Workers & Supervisors in trouble shooting complex cases through consultations with Case Managers, Case Workers & relevant stakeholders.
Taking on cases when the complexity of the case exceeds the capacity of Case workers.
Support the Case Supervisors in their Duty of Care (DOC) for Case Managers & Case Workers.
Accompany Case Workers to identify hard to reach children in need within the communities.
Lead the quarter updates of the referral pathways & share them with the case management task force.
Provide mentoring to LNGO Case Workers by conducting activities that support case
identification of specific children at high risk including children on the street, children in conflict with the law, children with disabilities, children being groomed for marriage & children out of school.
Program management, monitoring & delivery of results.
Prepare regular reports on case management progress for child protection section learning & review including stories of failure & stories of success.
Ensure effective data management with child protection partners.
Ensure rollout of CPIMS+ with child protection partners.
Technical & operational support to strengthen & scale up our clients child protection programming.
Provide technical & operational support to our clients partners & counterparts for improved child protection case management services.
Lead the local case management task force.
Support the monitoring, reporting & assistance of cases of grave child rights’ violations.
Networking & partnership building.
Build & sustain close partnerships with government counterparts & stakeholders on case management for child protection.
Project reporting
The selected candidate will work under the technical supervision of the Child Protection Manager & the day to day supervision of the Chief Field Office & Child Protection Specialists & Officers.
Key competencies
A university degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or a related social science field is required.
Additionally, a minimum of two years of professional experience in social development & or social work with a focus on child protection is also required.
This experience should include capacity development, social assistance, partnership building & providing technical support to governments, NGOs & other relevant stakeholders to implement child protection policies, programs & interventions.
Prior experience in child protection program development within a UN agency or organization is an asset. Having experience in both development & humanitarian contexts is also an advantage.
Must be fluent in English & the main local language used in the applied state.
Team management
This role has no team management responsibility.
