Creative Associates International Chief of Party Jobs in Ethiopia

Creative Associates International seeks a Chief of Party (COP) to manage and provide overall leadership and direction to a USAID-funded education program in Ethiopia, READ II. The COP will ensure successful implementation of the READ II program.

Responsibilities:

Provides overall technical and administrative leadership and expertise for the project
Serves as the primary liaison with USAID on management matters;

Supervises activity implementation and ensure that all activities meet stated goals and reporting requirements;

Facilitates collaborative partnerships between the Federal government Ministry of Education and the Regional Education Boards, implementing partners and other relevant stakeholders;

Ensures the timeliness, cost and quality of all activities performed under READ II;

Provides policy guidance, training and ongoing guidance to each of the team members;

Interacts with numerous government ministries and institutions and senior-level national and county-level government officials;

Ensures strategy for capacity building of national staff to achieve project quality and to build sustainable national technical, administrative and management talent;

Provides regular updates to HQ;

Prepares quarterly reports according to contract requirements;

Oversees the preparation of annual work plan and budget; and

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

At least 12 years of experience in relevant management/technical roles working with primary grade education programs in developing countries;

Proven success in complex, demanding environments;

At least five (5) years of experience working in the education sector in Sub-Saharan Africa;

Master’s degree in a field relevant to education; and

Oral and written proficiency in English.
