Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Planning or Town Planning or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;

A member of Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter);

Have a Certificate in computer application from a recognized institution;

Demonstrate ability to interpret and apply the Physical Planning Act (Cap. 286) and other related statutes in line with the National vision and goals; and

Must have good inter-personal and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

Preparing physical development plans;

Undertaking feasibility studies on physical, social, economic and environmental characteristics;

Implementing physical plans for County, Regional and Urban Areas;

Processing development applications;

Providing logistical support to physical planning liaison committees;

Updating and Maintaining physical planning records; and

Any other duties that may be assigned by the County Director of Physical Planning.
