County Public Service Board of Nyandarua Director of Housing and Urban Development Jobs in Kenya

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, the candidate must

Have an experience of not less than twelve (12) years in Housing and Human settlements;

Have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Real Estate Management and Valuation, Quantity Survey, Construction Management, Architecture or any other relevant qualification from a
recognized institution;

Have Master’s degree in any of the following; Civil Engineering, Real Estate
Management and Valuation, Quantity Survey, Construction Management, Architecture or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;

Have Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six (6) weeks;

Be registered as a Physical Planner under the Physical Planners Registration Act 1996;

Have a certificate in computer applications;

Have proven administrative ability and professional competence necessary for the# effective performance of work at this level;

Have demonstrated managerial and professional competence in work performance and

Have exhibited a thorough understanding of National and County policies, goals, objectives and ability to relate them to the Housing and urban development functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Developing and

coordinating the review of housing policies, programmes and strategies;

Developing the implementation of the Departmental Annual Work Plan;

Preparing budget estimates, annual development and procurement plans;

Coordinating real estate development and programmes;

Overseeing housing construction development projects;

Supervising inspection of Buildings;

Promoting Appropriate Building Technologies;

Coordinating provision of housing infrastructure;

Carrying out County housing surveys;

Coordinating leasing and housing administration;

Coordinating the supervision of the registration of new buildings;

Renovating of old County Government estates;

Administering tenant placement and rent assessment; and

Preparing annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly progress reports.
