The primary role of our County Public Service Board is to provide the County with human resource that is capable of efficient and cost effective service delivery.

The Siaya Public Service Board was established under Section 57 of the County Government’s Act ,No.17 of 2012 as a body corporate with perpetual succession and a seal , capable of suing and being sued in its own name.

Section 58 of the County Government’s Act provides for the composition of the Board.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for Diploma holders. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and close supervision of a senior officer.

Specific duties will involve provision of agricultural engineering works, services and mechanization extension; supervising machinery in the field to ensure quality work output with proper utilization and maintenance of machinery; Ensuring proper machinery maintenance and repairs while in the field for continuity of operations; participating in assessment, appraisal and evaluation of work; carrying out reconnaissance surveys and farm mapping services for development of soil and water conservation structures, water harvesting and cropping; Providing survey services to clients; Farm planning;

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer MUST have:

KCSE mean grade C-(minus) and above

Diploma in a

field of Agricultural Engineering such as Soil and Water, mechanization/Farm Power, Structures, Surveying or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution
