County Government of Mombasa Clinical Officer – Sexual Violence Program (female Jobs Vacancies
Main PurposeOrganizing and ensuring medical consultations to the target population providing treatment to patients within the scope of his/her medical competencies and referring them when appropriate, according to MSF protocols, procedures and the universal hygiene standards in order to guarantee quality and efficiency of the service provided.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the implementation and standardization of MSF clinical policies, tools, and hygiene protocols in order to minimize clinical risks and to guarantee the quality of patient care management. Promoting and maintaining confidentiality regarding all patient cases and records
Implementing diagnosis, prescription and prevention procedures that fall under the scope of his/her competencies applying medical knowledge, asking appropriate questions to patients and following protocols in force as well as using laboratory services when necessary, in order to ensure a correct implementation of the medical treatments and to refer patients when appropriate.
Participating in the planning and supervision, in close coordination with other supervisors, the HR processes (sizing, staff shifts, recruitment, training, evaluation, development and communication) of the team in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required, improve people tri-age capabilities, their motivation and commitment and their active participation in teaching the targeted population on therapeutic and preventive protocols.
In cases of emergency, carrying out first aid care and treatment according to protocols in order to re-duce mortality rates
Recording in the individual patient’s card and registration books, all performed medical activities (drugs prescribed, lab results, vaccination status, epidemiological activity, doses, etc.) keeping data traceability in order to ensure patients treatment continuity.
Participating in data collection and reporting when required
Knowing and implementing Patient Therapeutic Education (PTE), i.e. keeping contact with all patients, providing them information regarding their health state and responding to their questions.
Knowing and promoting the proper application of Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit and Sexually Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol.
MSF Context Specific Accountabilities
Provides immediate and follow up holistic care for survivors of sexual violence – and able to identify the psychological needs of the patient in collaboration with the project psychologist
Carries out forensic and medico-legal services related to survivors of sexual violence – and maintains specimens according to protocol.
Ensure transport of specimens is carried out according to protocol to preserve the possibility, if desired by the survivor, that such specimens or suitable for proper forensic and DNA testing
Meticulous documentation of reported events on official documents
Familiar with all medico legal aspects of sexual violence
Able to counsel patient on PEP, STI prevention treatment including vaccinations, and pregnancy prevention options
Participate when possible in community networking as it pertains to communicating the services provided at the facility and the confidential nature of the services
Participates in rationale use of drugs reviews
Maintains line list data information on survivors in collaboration with the data team
Qualifications
Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery or clinical medicine and community health from a recognized institution;
Certificate of registration from the clinical officers’ council
Desirable previous clinical supervision experience of at least one year and a special interest in SGBV

County Government of Mombasa Pharmacist Technician Jobs Vacancies
Main Purpose
Supports the drug supply management in the designated facilities under the supervision of the Mission Pharmacy Manager of the project.
Responsibilities
Stock Management and Storage Supervision
In cooperation with the Pharmacy Project Manager, assist in supervision, management, and control of the medical stock in (hospital, OPD and CMS) to avoid ruptures, losses, and gross overstock of drugs and other supplies
Oversee and monitor storage conditions in (hospital, OPD and CMS)
In cooperation with the Pharmacy
Project Manager and other MSF team members, assist in the supervision, management, and control of medical/supply stock in the MSF office, expat houses, and MSF cars
In cooperation with Pharmacy Project Manager follow-up the Drug management of office, expat houses, MSF cars expat health stocks which includes physical count, ordering and monitoring of expired dates
MSF Context Specific Accountabilities
Dispensing of prescriptions to both OPD and IPD patients
Participation in rationale use of drugs reviews and in collaboration with the project pharmacist identifies weaknesses in the system or understanding of drug use and protocol to foster quality of care
Reports discrepancies in stock compared to consumption and reports to the project pharmacist
Participates in weekly and monthly consumption reporting – and is familiar with IsyStock software tools
Participates in pharmacy inventory
Reports faulty or broken material to the immediate supervisor
Adheres strictly to universal precautions
Collaborates with the MoH counterpart working in OPD
Qualifications
Qualified pharmacy technologist with relevant license
Demonstrable experience in collaborating and training others in a team setting
Experience collaborating with local pharmacy systems (MoH and private) is an asset Pharmacy stock management

County Government of Mombasa Laboratory Technician Jobs Vacancies
Main Purpose
Perform clinical laboratory activities according to MSF/MoH protocols, security and hygiene measures in order to obtain results to determine the patient’s treatment.
Responsibilities
According to medical prescription, prepare and perform clinical exams/tests with appropriate techniques and following MSF protocols and procedures. This function includes, among others:
Participates in taking blood, vaginal and urethral samples
Centrifuge blood and urine samples.
Perform laboratory exams (serology, haematology, biochemistry, bacteriology or parasitological, blood groups and cross matching, according to context of the mission).
Participates in blood collection activities through blood drives or as a satellite blood collection site
Ensure proper reporting and registration of the sample results in order to keep a written track of activity and give information to the relevant persons, ensuring confidentiality.
Take care, manage and organize efficiently the laboratory material/equipment:
Apply hygiene and safety protocols, during daily cleaning /maintenance, sterilization, washing general glassware after procedures are complete – strict adherence to universal precautions.
Ensures proper sample waste disposal according to universal precautions and MSF protocols and highest safety standards
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
Provide efficient lab services in collaboration with MoH counterparts
Participate in CMEs and updates in changes in lab technologies
Reports faulty or broken equipment to supervisor or to biomedical technologist
Conducts routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
In collaboration with the Laboratory Supervisor reviews the technique and skill of all clinical staff in the facility to ensure that those participating in rapid or simple diagnostic tests (urine dip, malaria RDT, blood sugar and hemoglobin testing) are meeting standards
Assist the SGBV providers with the necessary containers, security and storage of forensic specimens – report immediately and breech in protocol to the supervisor, Medical Activity Manager or PMR
Qualifications
Essential Laboratory Technician diploma /degree and relevant license
Minimum 1 year working experience essential.
English and Swahili
Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
