ResponsibilitiesSecretarial and administrative responsibilities to the office of the speaker.
Drafting speaker's letters, presentations and speeches.
Arranging travel, accommodation and occasionally travelling as maybe required
Screening phone calls enquiries and requests and handling them when appropriate.
Meeting and welcoming visitors who wish to see the Hon. Speaker
Taking dictation and minutes in appropriate circumstances.
Managing communication and public relations activities in the office of the speaker.
Organizing and maintaining diaries and making appointments on behalf of the Speaker
In appropriate circumstances, liase with Assembly staff and members of the Assembly in contact with the office of the speaker.
Referring matters that relate to the incurring expenditure to the office of the clerk
Undertake research for the Speaker b)
Qualifications
A holder of at least first degree from a university recognized in Kenya preferably in Business Administration and/or public relations. Knowledge in legal services and related field will be an added advantage.
Have knowledge, experience and distinguished career of not less than 3 years.
Ability to work independently and support the Speaker's business operations.
Excellent public relations, written and spoken English.
Proficiency in ICT, Excellent communication and report writing skills.
Be able to provide administrative support, maintain records and generate reports with high level of integrity and discretion.
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.

Recording dictation in shorthand and transcribing in typewritten form Processing data and managing e-office
Operating office equipment ensuring security of office equipments , documents and records
Managing office petty cash
Develop and maintain a filling system
Liase with the senior officers to handle requests and queries from senior managers.
Ensure the efficient and smooth day to day operation of the office
Guide and supervise junior staff b)
Qualifications
Bachelor of Business and office management or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Knowledge in legal services and related field will be an added advantage.
Served in the grade of Administrative Assistant II or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three 3 years.
Proficiency in computer application skills
Have excellent oral and written Communication skills.
Demonstrate integrity and
professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.

Have served in the grade of a secretary assistant or personal secretary III or any other relevant and comparable position in the public service for a minimum period of three (3) years. Knowledge in legal services and related field will be an added advantage.
A certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
Passed the following examinations from Kenya national examination council
• Typewriting III (Minimum 50 w.p.m] / computerized document processing III • Shorthand II (90 w.p.m )
• Business English III/ Communication I
• Office Management II/ Office Administration and Management III;
• Secretarial Duties II
• Commerce II vi) Demonstrate integrity and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
