County Government of Kakamega Principal Pharmaceutical Technologist - Jobs in Kenya



Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:-
  • Quantifying drugs/medicines as per requirements ;
  • Assessing drug requirements based on disease patterns and emergency out-breaks;
  • Ensuring manufactured products conform to the Pharmacopeia specifications for quality assurance;
  • Ensuring implementation of decisions of drug/medicine and therapeutic committees;
  • Coordinating development and implementation of training programs for Continuous Professional
  • Development (CPD) for staff and other stakeholders;
  • Supervising and assessing students/interns;
  • Maintaining up-to-date records pertaining to drug/medicine transactions;
  • Preparing drug consumption reports;
  • Coordinating setting of targets, preparing work plans and budgets; and
  • Couching and mentoring of staff.

    Requirements for appointment
    For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-
  • Served in the grade of Chief Pharmaceutical Technologist, Job Group CPSB 07/’M’ for at least three(3) years;ii. Diploma in either Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Technology or equivalent qualification approvedbythePharmacy and Poisons Board from a recognized institution;
  • Certificate of enrollment as a Pharmaceutical Technologist awarded by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board(PPB); and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
