County Government of Kakamega Principal Dental Technologist - Jobs in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:-

Fabricating speech aids and anti-snoring devices;

Fabricating implant dentures;

Constructing maxillofacial appliances such as keloid splints headgears and Temporal Mandibular Joint correction devices;

Designing implant retained crowns and bridges;

Milling and processing combined fixed and removable partial dentures;

Devising and fixing precision attachments on natural teeth and implants;

Managing a dental laboratory;

Analyzing data and carrying out research; and

guiding and counseling staff.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

Served in the grade of Chief Dental Technologist Job Group CPSB 07/’M’ for a minimumof three(3) years;

Diploma in Dental Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Certificate of registration from the Kenya Dental Technologists Association; and

Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

Implementing medical engineering programmes and projects;

Providing user support;

Undertaking preventive maintenance and repairs of medical/hospital equipment;

Plants, furniture and instruments;

Installing medical equipment and furniture of medium technology;

Analyzing information for research;

Preparing planned preventive maintenance schedule (PPM);

Providing specifications for spare parts and consumables;

Maintaining inventory of medical/hospital equipment, furniture and plants;

Supervising Medical Engineering works in a health facility;

Updating and maintaining information on medical engineering services for input into the Health Information Management system;

Training users on use and maintenance of medical equipment; and

Supervising staff working under the officer.


Requirements of Appointment
For appointment to this

grade, an officer must have:-

Served in the grade of Medical Engineering Technologist I Job Group CPSB 09/’K’ for a minimum period of three (3) years;

Diploma in Medical Engineering or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and

Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
