County Government of Kakamega Director - County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Programme Jobs in Kenya

Pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the County Government Act No. 17 of 2012, the County Government of Kakamega invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions:-

An Officer at this level will be reporting to the Chief Officer for the Department.
Duties and Responsibilities:-

Providing overall command and strategic leadership to the County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Programme;

Developing and implementing the policies, regulations and standing orders guiding the County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Programme in line with the Constitution and County Government Polices;

Overseeing the effective management and development of service men and women in the Service;

In collaboration with other department , issuing a disciplinary code for the Service or any part of the service;

Custodian of all County Government property and assets being utilized within the County Youth Service and Women Empowerment Programme;

Issuing timely and regular reports about the operations of the service to the Executive Committee Member and the Governor; and

Any other lawful duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for Appointment:-

For appointment to this position, one must;

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Have Masters of degree in a relevant from a recognized University;

Have Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: social sciences; Criminology; Political Science; Intelligence; Security Studies; Human Psychology; Public Administration and other related
disciplines from a recognized University;

Have attended a Strategic Leadership Development Program (SLDP) lasting not less than six weeks (6) or it’s equivalent from a recognized institution;

Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution;

Ten (10) years relevant work experience in working

experience of over ten (10) years in disciplined or paramilitary service; five (5) of which must be at a senior management level; and

Meet the requirements of Articles 10, 232 and Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Terms of Service:

Renewable contract based on agreed performance levels
