County Government of Kakamega Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist - Jobs in Kenya


Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail coordination of Laboratory services in health facilities. Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:-
  • Planning, supervision and coordination of laboratory services as well as allocation of duties and deployment of medical laboratory staff;
  • Ensure availability of supplies and equipment, participate in the supervision and counselling of staff and students
  • To be in charge of the County General Hospital or head a Division of Vector Borne Disease (DVBD) field station or a regional blood transfusion centre.


    Requirements for Appointment
    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
  • Served in the grade of Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist for a minimum period of three (3) years;
  • Proven evidence of participation in relevant short course (seminars, conferences workshops, etc);
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board;
  • Registration Certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board(KMLTTB);
  • Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
