County Government of Bomet Director/Public Health and Sanitation Jobs in Kenya


The County Government of Bomet through the Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions: -

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Officer, He/she will be responsible for: -

  • Administration of and coordination of all the activities in the public health function
  • Ensuring compliance to public health Laws/ regulation, Policies at the county
  • Formulating, implementing, interpreting and reviewing public health policies, guidelines, procedures and standards
  • Planning and ensuring implementation of preventive and promotive health programmes
  • Liaising with other relevant departments and stakeholders in the implementation of Public Health projects and programmes
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of public health projects
  • Ensuring compliance to National and international regulations
  • Providing technical advice on promotive and preventive health
  • Developing and Implementing strategic, Annual development and workplans,
  • Planning and budgeting for the department, overseeing capacity building and performance management in the department.
  • Any duty and function that may be assigned

    Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Environmental Health or Public Health from recognized institution
  • Minimum ten (10) years relevant experience
  • Possession of Masters degree in the relevant area will be an added advantage
  • Has demonstrated high
    degree of professional competence, leadership and administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of the public health
    function.
  • Computer literate.
  • Valid Public Health Officers and Technicians council Practicing License (PHOTC)
  • Association of Public Health Officers (K) Membership Certificate (APHOK)

    Terms of service:

  • Three (3) Year Contract
