County Government of Bomet Cashier Jobs in Kenya


The County Government of Bomet through the Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions: -

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the officer in charge, he/she will: -

  • Receive payment by cash, cheques or automatic debits.
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
  • Maintain clean and orderly cheque registers.
  • Issue trading licenses or Single Business Permit
  • Obtain total payments for a period and reconcile this with total sales.
  • Compute and record totals of transactions.
  • Keep periodic balance sheets of cash amounts and transactions details.
  • Maintain financial and online payment system.
  • Collect information, calculating taxes, fees, and other expenses and preparing invoices
  • Deposit cash and cheques in the bank on a daily basis
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly revenue reports per each collection stream
  • Inform and issue demand notices.
  • Maintain utilities records and produced monthly reports on collections.
  • Perform coding and reconciliation of customers’ accounts.

    Requirements

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

  • Certificate in accounts or equivalent qualification;
  • Proficiency in computer application skills;
  • Minimum two (2) years relevant experience

    Terms of Service:

  • Permanent and Pensionable
