County Government of Bomet Assistant Director / Public Health, Maternal and Child Health Jobs in Kenya


The County Government of Bomet through the Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions: -

Responsibilities

Reporting to the officer in charge he/she will be responsible for:-

  • Monitoring, enforcing and implementing statutory provisions and other relevant legislations on public health
  • Setting standards and guidelines in the provision of public health services
  • Monitoring implementation of public health projects and programmes
  • Carrying out research on public health needs,
  • Preparing proposals for resource mobilization
  • Organizing forums with relevant partners and agencies in support of public health programmes and projects
  • Integrating modern information, communication technology in the department,
  • Developing performance targets and contracts in the department and coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Coordinating Reproductive and Maternal Newborns Care and Adolescent Health (RAMNCAH)
  • Coordinating RAMNCAH to ensure proper utilization of service
  • Spearheading Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) tailored towards promoting reproductive health.
  • Designing and planning RAMNCAH activities
  • Supervising RAMNCAH implementation
  • Arranging for capacity building of staff on RAMNCAH programe
  • Any duty and function that may be assigned
    Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in either Environmental Health or Public Health from recognized institution
  • Minimum five (5) years relevant experience
  • Has demonstrated high degree of professional competence, leadership and administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of the public health function
  • Computer literate.
  • Valid Public Health Officers and Technicians Council Practicing License (PHOTC)
  • Association of Public Health Officers (K) Membership Certificate (APHOK)
