Our client is a Start-up in the ISP space in Kenya and they are looking to hire a Technical Operations Manager who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technical aspects of their operations.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Internet infrastructure, network management, and technical support, with a focus on ensuring the services are delivered with the highest level of reliability and customer satisfaction. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic startup environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor network performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal service delivery.

Manage relationships, work scope and performance of 3rd party contractors across the country, and with multiple contractors.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy new network solutions to meet customer demands.

Lead a team of technical support specialists to provide top-notch customer support and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for technical support processes.

Work closely with customer support teams to ensure effective communication and timely issue resolution.

Continuously evaluate and optimize our infrastructure to enhance service quality while controlling costs.

Implement best practices for capacity planning, resource utilization, and disaster recovery.

Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors,

negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of products and services.

Monitor vendor performance and evaluate their products for potential enhancements to our infrastructure.

Recruit, train, and mentor technical operations staff to maintain a high-performing team.

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Must have 7+ proven experience in ISP, technical operations, network management, or a similar role.

Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security, and infrastructure management.

Well- developed IT and Technical aptitude, with an understanding of service delivery process.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Effective leadership and team management skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies used in Internet service provision.
