Cordaid Ethiopia is recruiting a Project Controller for its Health, & Private Sector Development portfolio.

Purpose of the Position

The Project Controller - Resilience, Health, & Private Sector Development (PSD) Projects is responsible for ensuring accurate financial management and control of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

Develops project budgets and ensure that cost recovery is guaranteed;

Provides technical and operational guidance on innovative approaches to project financing, risk identification / analysis/ assessment/ mitigation/ monitoring and use of financing structures;

Conducts critical budget analysis including budgeted versus actual expenditure analysis;

Facilitates the use and submission of periodic workplans and budget forecasts;

Identifies bottlenecks and provides advice on achieving value for money in activity implementation;

Monitors the operational costs of field offices and its contractual payments/invoices;

Ensures that all work advances given to staff are liquidated within the stipulated period;

Ensures financial

system data is up to date and complete.

Manages processes in a way that secures efficiency, auditability, timeliness and information reliability;

Maintains a financial report tracking system to ensure that all reporting deadlines and milestones are met;

Monitors project operations to ensure compliance with government, donor and the organization strategies, rules, regulations, policies, and standards of accountability, ethics and integrity and achievement of results;

During audits, ensure that relevant information is transmitted to the auditors in a timely manner; and

Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Business Administration and/or Finance Management;

An added qualification in accounting / finance is a strongly desired;

5 years Experience in finance or operations management in international humanitarian programmes, including a demonstrated ability to set up operational management systems;

Proven commitment to accountable practices;

Proven experience in capacity building and organizing finance workshops;

Knowledge in AX Financial Accounting Software desired;

Good communication skills, including excellent English language skills;

Capable of working under pressure in a multitasking position;

Ability to work in a multicultural environment; and

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel and other Microsoft applications.
