Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) is an international Italian NGO established in 1965. Since then COOPI has been undertaking activities to help and empower the poor and needy in different countries.
COOPI Ethiopia started its operation in 1995 and its activities include water resources development, Food Security, Human and Veterinary Health, Education, Hygiene and Sanitation Promotion and Awareness and Capacity Building.
COOPI is currently seeking a qualified and competent cashier to be based in Awash Arba, frequent travel to project intervention areas and reporting to project manager and base administrator.
Duties and Responsibilities
Custody of petty cash
Maintain daily record of cash in/out balance
In collaboration with project base administrator/accountant, replenish the petty cash as per COOPI procedure
Make cash and cheque payments abiding by COOPI procedure
Insure that necessary codes are filed in before settling payments
Properly fill payment vouchers
Ensure no bank cheque is signed
Ensure bank transfers and cheque withdrawals are finalized
Other duty assigned by immediate supervisor
Job Requirements
BA or Diploma in Accounting and management or related fields
A minimum of two years of relevant working experience with International NGOs or private sector in a similar position
Fluency in English and Amharic
Proven capacity to work in a team is essential.
Experience in liaising with governmental/local authorities, IOs and NGOs.
Demonstrated ability to work in hardship areas
Computer literate, with excellent command of Microsoft Excel.
