Co-operative Bank ICT Officer Jobs in Kenya

Our client, a medium sized Savings and credit Co-operative Society with its headoffice in Nairobi County and a membership spread across the country, seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the following position: ICT Officer

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ICT officer shall be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and management of computerised information systems including;

Roles and Responsibilities

Ensuring appropriate Database management and administration;

Monitoring information systems and trouble-shooting of all systems in the Society;

Ensure safe custody of data and information ;

Ensure prompt data processing and transmission to branches;

Ensuring proper maintenance of ICT related equipment and security of hardware and software;

Designing and producing of reports;

Give advice on acquisition of hardware and software

Ensuring smooth operation in all terminals within the Local Area Network and Wide Area Network, liaising with ICT suppliers and support services providers;

Development, implementation and management of computerized information systems;

Drawing up ICT technical specifications;
Undertaking feasibility studies of proposed ICT systems;

Ensuring systems integrity, availability and security;

Ensuring proper functioning of all systems in the Society;

Maintaining a backup system for all the data in the Society and storing them safely;

Assigning User IDs and User rights and implementation of controls in the Society system;

Reporting system breakdowns and failures immediately to CEO and the system vendor for quick action;

Formulation and implementation of ICT policies;

Providing appropriate information and guidance on emerging and best practices in ICT;

Ensuring timely provision of ICT service to all the functions of the Society;

Coordination, development and upgrading of websites; and

Any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Job Qualifications

Appointment to the position will be made from persons who have:

Bachelor of Business Information Technology

or its equivalent from a recognized university

Having satisfactorily served in the grade of ICT assistant or equivalent with similar responsibilities in like organizations for at least 2 years;

Working knowledge of Microsoft Navision
Professional qualification in ICT (MSCE or MSCA or DBA)

Experience in ICT Project Management will be an added advantage Wide experience and a high level of competence in computerised information systems.

3 years relevant experience.

Ability to formulate, implement and monitor ICT Policies, Standards and Procedures.

Advanced decision making and problem solving skills

Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines

Team players

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Extensive experience in hardware and software support and management

Unquestionable Integrity and strong ethical standards

Judgment and decision-making ability

Strong problem solving skills

Self-starter

Strong analytical and presentation skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely

Accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to plan and execute tasks with minimal supervision

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
