Job Summary:The Finance assistant is responsible for printing Payment Request Forms (PRF) requests for approval and payment from field offices, printing quotes, updating books of accounts in excel and stamping. Additionally, excellent time management skills will be required to cope with the disparate duties.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesFinance documents finalisationPrinting quotes and sharing with requestors’ (logistics and procurement staff) as received via existing electronic means
Printing Payment request Forms (PRF) from field locations for approvals and presentation to Treasury officer for payment
Updating the books of accounts –bank books and Mpesa books in excel as per the standard descriptions available
Stamping of the payment vouchers with the relevant stamps available including “POSTED”, “PAID” and ‘PAID from UNICEF’.
Integrating payment vouchers paid via scans with the original documents once received and further filing them as required
Compiling support documents for balance sheet reconciliations and accruals
Assist with archiving of financial documents as per Concern’s archiving policy
Communication and Reports
Communication in writing to the Treasury Officer regarding any challenges in meeting the above tasks
Other Duties
Adhere to and promote the standards outlined in the Concern Code of Conduct and associated policies to their team, beneficiaries, and be committed to providing a safe working environment
Participating and contributing towards Concern’s emergency response, as and when necessary
Comply with Concern’s health, safety and security guidelines during emergencies
Take all possible measure to meet Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS)
Any other duties as assigned by
the Line Manager
Minimum Education, Qualifications & Experience Required
A degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting or related field
CPA or ACCA professional certification
At least (2) years’ experience working in finance department
Familiar with government policies and regulations on taxes
Excellent application of excel and word packages
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
