Roles for the Communications Specialist Job
Delivering a strong Marketing and Communications Strategy for 2018-2019.
Maintaining the M-Shule brand identity.
Managing external and internal communications and marketing campaigns.
Designing and preparing stakeholder materials such as reports, newsletters, event posters, training materials.
Social media strategy & management.
Planning and executing community event programs.
Supporting coordinated events with new and existing M-Shule partners.
Support and propose other team projects and any other related tasks as needed.
Communications Specialist Job Requirements
Strong professional writing skills to create engaging materials for a Kenyan audience and an external/online audience.
Prior experience in communications and/or marketing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Powerpoint, Excel).
Proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, WordPress, etc).
Aptitude for graphic design or ability to learn quickly.
A strong understanding
of the Kenyan educational context, especially in low-income areas.
Bilingualism in Swahili and English.
Basic analytical skills.
Strong critical thinking, creative, design-thinking and project implementation abilities.
Strong independent worker with excellent ability to deliver quality work, improve on past processes, and collaborate with team members and users.
Enthusiastic and excited about innovative opportunities in edtech in Kenya, and want to bring that to as many learners as possible.
Experience in writing proposals and grants.
Photography and videography skills.
Basic analytics skills.
Experience with education particularly in low-income contexts.
Contract Details:
Duration: This is a 3-month contract position that will begin in November 2018, with the possibility of transitioning into a long term contract after that based on performance.
Location: Contract will be full-time and based in Nairobi, Kenya.
