Job Specification

  • This is the entry grade for degree holders in this cadre. An officer at this level will work with the guidance of a senior officer.

    Duties and Resposibilities

  • Reviewing the economic policy and technological issues relating to the
    regulation of the communication sector

  • Analyzing information feedback from various consultative processes by the Authority and offering guidance on their incorporation in regulatory decisions

  • Providing technical input in the drafting of necessary regulatory safeguards and guidelines for a liberalized communications market with respect to competition, tariffs, interconnection, and access

  • Assessing and reviewing regulatory decisions/mechanisms to determine their impact, effectiveness, and implementation on the communications sector

  • Researching emerging issues in the ICT market

  • Developing and reviewing various tariff and cost models, interconnection, and
    access frameworks

  • Responding to information and data requests

    Person Specification

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Applied and Physical Sciences,
    Humanities and Social Sciences, Business related fields, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution of Kenya 2010.

  • 1 year in the grade of Officer II or equivalent
