Since 2002, CHAI has been a leader in expanding and accelerating access to HIV treatment, reducing the cost of drugs and diagnostic tests, and strengthening the capacity of governments to prevent and diagnose HIV and to initiate people living with HIV on life-saving treatment.
One critical component of CHAI's HIV testing program is the introduction and scale up of HIV Self-Testing (HIVST), which allows people to quickly and privately test themselves for HIV. This innovative approach has already significantly expanded access to HIV testing and will continue to play a growing role in HIV testing service delivery overall.
