Position: Civil Engineer

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Our Client, whose operations in Kenya began in the year 2014 and can boast of becoming the unprecedented market leader in organized wood working joinery segment – offering advanced adhesive and specialty products is urgently looking to recruit versatile and enthusiastic Civil Engineer.

The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants, client and other construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, budget other matters by performing the following duties;

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Undertaking technical and feasibility studies including site investigations

Using a range of computer software for developing detailed designs

Undertaking complex calculations

Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals including architects and subcontractors

Compiling job specs and supervising tendering procedures

Resolving design and development problems

Managing budgets and project resources

Scheduling material and equipment purchases and deliveries

Making sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety

Assessing the sustainability and environmental impact of projects

Ensuring

projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time

Performing any other duties as required by management

Key Competencies & Qualifications:

Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent field from a recognized institution

Must have at least 3 – 4 years of experience in Building Consulting

Construction Industry background a plus

Ability to be self-motivated with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic

Good organizational skills and the ability to be proactive and take initiative
