About the Role
The Affinity Group of National Associations (AGNA) is an exciting ‘networks of networks’ that brings together both national and regional platforms of civil society organisations.
In the context of AGNA, young people have a crucial role to play, innovating and driving change and new ways of working. AGNA, together with CIVICUS’ Youth and Diversity & Inclusion streams, works to identify barriers to engagement, reaching out and mainstreaming issues across its networks.
It is uniquely placed to encourage and facilitate the participation of a broad range of stakeholders in civil society to tackle the dynamic issues which we are facing.
The role would suit a young African at the beginning of their career, with experience using communications tools and approaches to mobilise communities and others to act together for social change.
The person will have a strong commitment to civil society and human rights, and understand the value of partnership and network building.
Key Requirements
Background (degree or experience) in communications, development studies, political science, economics, sociology, public policy or a related field.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Proficiency in French and/or
Arabic required
Knowledge of communications and social media, advocacy campaigns, partnership building, marketing (ideally in the non-profit sector), and/or project design
Knowledge of video editing and design
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, work under pressure, and multitasking
