CIC Insurance Reinsurance Officer Jobs in Kenya

Purpose

The incumbent shall be responsible for placement of risks and reinsurance recoveries for CIC Life.

Primary Responsibilities

Review all risks acceptances to ensure they are protected by proper reinsurance arrangement;

Carry out facultative business placement and acceptance;

Carry out coinsurance business placement and acceptance;

Negotiate special acceptances of unusual risks;

Place all risks that are in excess of capacity;

Prepare and file quarterly reinsurance returns;

Timely and accurate reconciliation of reinsurance accounts on a monthly basis, making necessary adjustments as appropriate;

Ensure correct set up of various treaties in the Life Management System;

Prepare reinsurance system change requests and follow up to ensure the changes are effected for smooth reinsurance administration and reporting activities.

Organize meetings with reinsurers/reinsurance brokers to discuss key reinsurance matters and

Facilitating audits from reinsurers and completing audits for reinsurance assumed with 3rd parties.

Person Specification

Academic Qualifications

• Bachelors’ degree in Insurance, Business

Administration or Economics or in related field.

Professional Qualifications

Professional qualification in LOMA, CII or AIIK.

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience.

Skills and Attributes

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Problem solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Good negotiation skills.

Good analytical skills.

Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications.

Understanding of the working environment /competitors.

Technical competence in insurance.

Basic knowledge of regulations by AKI and IRA.
