AIC Githumu Mission Hospital is looking for qualified candidate to fill the position of:

Medical Officer-1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities

Overall responsibility for daily clinical assessment and prescription of treatment for patients attending the hospital.

Carrying out ward rounds on as per schedule.

Preparing and responding to emergencies and disasters.

Maintaining medical records, health information and data,

Counselling patients and their relatives on the diagnosis and bereavement, teaching and coaching medical students, nursing students and clinical officer’s interns.

Performing medical and surgical procedures.

Identify and coordinate referral of patients for further management.

Liaise with consultants on management of patients in the facility.

Participating in management of medicines, medical instruments and equipment,

Develop clinical protocols and procedures in line with the current SOPs.

Training of staff on job and theory sessions.

Provide health talks to staff and patients in CMEs.

Advise the management and board on clinical requirements.

Represent the hospital and liaise with local and national authorities, donor agencies to promotes the hospitals programs.

Overall supervision of the medical team in the facility.

Ensure students and interns on attachment are appropriately placed within medical department and appropriately supervised.

Coordinating and administering relevant and timely continuous medical updates to other

staff.

Conducting internal quality checks at the hospital

Carry out other relevant duties as may be assigned by management.

Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor

Required Competencies

Excellent Clinical and surgical skills

Good communication skills

Team player

Qualification:

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B; Ch.B.) degree from a recognized Institution by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;

Successfully completed one (1) year internship from a recognized institution;

Registration license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;

Proficiency in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

Demonstration of experience in management and leadership a great added advantage.
