Job Responsibilities:
The Sponsorship Team Lead is responsible for direct, provide guidance and evaluate sponsorship activities and monitoring systems, emphasising Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
Also provide direct facilitation and training of trainers to sponsorship staff in the Country Office and at the program level.
Act as the primary communication link between the Country Office and CCFC Canada Office for coordination and submission of sponsorship operational and strategic plans as well as progress reports.
The Sponsorship Team Lead is also responsible for coordinating and work with responsible Country Office staff and contribute to the country and the global strategic plan, theory of change and business plan, and meeting Annual Key Performance Plans and Performance Indicators set by Country Director together with the Program Manager.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
Build staff capacity for success in the Country Office Sponsorship area by recruiting, completing annual performance evaluations, training, recognizing, coaching and disciplining staff as necessary in consultation with the Program Manager.
Develop and monitor systems to ensure continuous quality improvement utilizing all relevant technologies to enhance productivity and quality assurance.
Undertake and/or recommend corrective measures or enhancements and enforce policies, procedures and agreements related to sponsorship as necessary.
Visit program sites to randomly monitor sponsorship administration activities regularly to ensure that enrolled children are receiving support, compliance with CCFC policies, procedures and to support the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Initiatives.
Provide direction and guidance to program partners’ staff in developing a correspondence plan, ensure that clear performance measurements are developed, and carry out related action items based on monthly monitoring activities.
Train trainers (TOT) in partner organizations and provide coaching/mentoring; manage or conduct direct delivery related to sponsorship administration requirements.
Randomly review correspondence to ensure that standards (quality, correctness, content and translation) are met.
Ensure responses to sponsor inquiries from partners to Markham are prompt, accurate and detailed.
Working together with the Ethiopia country
office program manager, Sponsorship team of the Canada office, explores potential for local sponsorship, recommend and implement upon approval.
Facilitate effective and regular communication with clients, partners, CCFC Country Offices and CCFC Toronto including conducting analysis and provision of required feedback and reports.
Coordinate sponsor visits in accordance with established CCFC sponsor visit policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
MA Degree in social science preferably social work, sociology, development studies, psychology, law, communication, journalism or a relevant field from a nationally/ internationally recognized university.
Minimum of 8 years of direct experience in implementing or managing child centered, family focused community development programs with a minimum of 2 years of experience in management of program and people; experience in working with OVC and management of child sponsorship is an asset
Have a minimum of 3 years of child sponsorship process management, with track record of handling the routine sponsorship administrative activities
Understanding of community development programs in hard to reach urban and rural communities and working experiences with socially destitute is an asset
Demonstrated results in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
Excellent skills in group facilitation, training, training of trainers, capacity building, coaching/mentoring, and negotiating in a challenging environment. Train-the-trainer certification is an asset.
Project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation experience that apply child protection tools and resources.
Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
Able to read computer reports, interpret and strategize on related actions, identify issues and assess training needs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (particularly written grammar, sentence structure and flow) with the ability to speak and write fluently in English. Fluency in other relevant local language(s) such as Amharic, Afan Oromo and others will be added advantage
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook; intermediate experience with customized databases; MS project an asset
Ability to travel nationally; international travel may be required
