Christian Aid’s connection with Ethiopia goes back to the 1970’s when the famine affecting the whole Sahel region drew the world’s attention to the needs of Ethiopia and neighbors.
However, Christina Aid Ethiopia was formally set up in 1997 and registered with the Ethiopian Ministry of Justice and the Disaster Prevention and preparedness commission in 1999 and reregistered in 2009 as per CSA Proclamation.
The Programme of the work that Christian Aid supports in Ethiopia encompasses mainly Climate resilience, Livelihoods and inclusive markets, Humanitarian, and Gender and Inequality
Though its membership of Action by Churches together (ACT), Christian Aid is able to provide humanitarian assistance in times of emergency.
Christian Aid Ethiopia follows dual approach in its operations (working through local organizations and directly self-implementing with local communities).
We believe that indigenous or locally based Non-Governmental Organizations are the best placed and the most able to work with the local population for a better future.
In response to the government regulation which requires Civil Societies Charities to announce a call for the audit firm on newspaper and for the sake of transparency in the process, it has been necessary for Christian Aid Ethiopia to make this announcement.
Therefore, Christian Aid Ethiopia is looking for an eligible audit firm to conduct audit for organization for the year ended December 31, 2020.
Objective of the Auditing
The purpose of the Auditing is
to conduct financial audit of Financial statements of the organization for the year ended December 31, 2020 as per the guidelines required by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia(FDRE) Accounting and Auditing Board of Ethiopia (AABE) and Agency of Civil Society Organizations (ACSO).
The financial statements’ preparation is based on International Public Sectors Accounting Standards(IPSAS) requirements. Therefore, Qualification of the Audit Firm should fit to conduct audit these financial statements.
Job Requirements
To this end, those Chartered certified (qualified) Audit Firms & whose name exists on the list from AABE are invited to participate having produced the following pertinent information.
Qualifications and experiences of the firm’s Audit team
Classified as higher grade by the relevant Authorizing Agency;
Tax payer identification number & VAT registration evidence;
Copy of renewed trade license issued by the relevant Authority;
Evidence/s of Working experiences and a proven track record of successfully conducting auditing of IPSAS based Financial statements for other organizations;
Copy of document testifying the settlement of the necessary government taxes;
Time to complete the audit and,
Audit fee to be charged for the audit service.
How to Apply
The Audit firm is expected to submit their technical and financial proposal in separately sealed envelopes on or before the closing date.
Application closing date: 7 days from the date of this announcement in newspaper and other media.
