Child.org Call for Partners-Kisumu and Siaya County Job Opportunity in Kenya


The Call:

Child.org is reliant on working with partner organisations to deliver effective programmes that support children in low-resource settings. We have an exciting new opportunity to develop a Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Programme in Western Kenya.

We are seeking for partners with experience working in Kisumu or Siaya counties in Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Programming to work together in the development and delivery of this programme.

In establishing partnerships, Child.org is guided by the following principles:

Common purpose and approach: Partners will have shared objectives and ways of working with clear benefits to women and/or children

Mutual benefit: Partners will work together to build upon and enhance each other's strengths and abilities

Transparency: Both parties will be able to raise concerns over the work transparently

Measurable results for change: Partnerships must be clearly focused on providing measurable results

Our objectives of working in partnerships include to:

  • Enhance efficiency and effectiveness of programme implementation

  • Strengthen the reach and impact of our work at a regional, county level and national level

  • Enhance our capacity to reach beneficiaries

  • Reinforce the implementation and monitoring of our programming objectives

  • Create strategic alliances

  • Foster a culture of partnership within the organisation

    The partner should have:

  • An established legal status within the country i.e either registered as Non-Governmental Organisation under the NGO board or registered as a Community Based Organisation under the Department of Gender and Social Development.

  • A clear organisational structure with defined roles and responsibilities for different positions within
    the organisation

  • Clear governance and internal control systems in place

  • An effective financial management system or be willing to update operational processes as part of an organisational capacity assessment

  • A safeguarding process for children and vulnerable adults, or be willing to develop one for the partnership

  • Demonstrable networks within the counties of interest

  • Demonstrable success of community-based work that impacts the lives of women and children

  • Demonstrable experience of working with women’s groups

  • Demonstrable evidence of implementing Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health Programmes

  • Existing networks within the Ministry of Health in any of the regions highlighted

  • Experience of working with Community Health Volunteers or similar roles based within communities
