Requirements for the Chief Finance Officer Job
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Be a Kenyan citizen;
Have a Bachelor’s Degree in in a relevant field from a University recognized in Kenya;
CPA (K) OR ACCA Finalist;
Possession of Master’s degree in relevant field will be an added advantage;
Must be a member of professional body relevant to the possession applied and in good standing;
Have vast knowledge and experience of not less than (10) years in the relevant field, five of which should be in managerial position in the private or public sector;
Must be a member either ICPA or ACCA professional body;
Be conversant with the constitution of Kenya and all the devolution laws
Be a strategic thinker and result oriented;
Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
Have capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
Satisfies the requirement of chapter six;
Be a computer literate.
Chief Finance Officer Job Responsibilities
The administration county Department;
Formation and implementation of effective programs to attain vision 2030 and sector goals;
Development and implementation of strategic plans and sector development plans;
Implementation of policies and regulations;
Providing strategic policy direction for
effective service delivery;
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time;
Ensuring compliance with the national values and principles of good governance as outlined in articles 10 and 232 of the constitution of Kenya.

Foreign degrees must be accredited by Commission of Higher Education (CHE).
Valid Clearance Certificate of Good Conduct, Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Tax Compliance.
Any other relevant supporting documents.
