Background:

The purpose of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program–Procurement and Supply Management single award IDIQ contract is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities to prevent suffering, save lives, and create a brighter future for families around the world.

The IDIQ has four task orders that directly support the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and USAID’s family planning and reproductive health program. GHSC-PSM provides health commodity procurement services and systems-strengthening technical assistance that address all elements of a comprehensive supply chain. All four task orders are implemented in Nigeria.

We are looking for an SID Senior Advisor technical writer consultant who possesses strong technical writing skills and a passion for producing high-quality documentation preferably with experience in software development projects that is appropriate for its intended audience.

You will work with the internal development team and information system analyst on products and documentation requirements, writing easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides. Your primary focus will be to create documentation that clarifies the product’s features and benefits, scoping out new products to ensure all necessary information has been included for users to understand what they’re reading quickly and transferable.

Responsibilities

Develop a deep understanding of the software product, its features, functionality, and underlying technologies through collaboration with developers and product managers.

Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.

Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

Write clear, concise, and jargon-free documentation that conveys complex technical concepts in an understandable way.

Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help, and developer guides.

Create a User guide to help end-users use a variety of applications.

Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.

Create and maintain the information architecture.

Deliverables

To produce high-quality documentation for our 2 major software products, Ipolongo and

NiMS.

To illustrate technical concepts in an easy-to-understandable text, diagram, and infographics.

To create user guides, FAQs, release notes, and other documentation for Ipolongo and NiMS

Use visuals like screenshots, diagrams, videos, and animations to enhance understanding and engagement.

Job Qualifications

At least 5 year working experience and 3 years experience in software application development environments.

Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation.

Ability to deliver high-quality documentation paying attention to detail.

Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.

Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text, diagrams, infographics, and pictures.

Excellent written skills in English.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Figma, or other diagram applications.

Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development

University degree in a relevant field preferred.
Smart and creative in writing

Ability to creatively write user guides, FAQs, release notes, and other documentation for open-source projects.
