Chemonics Program Coordinator Jobs in South Africa

Chemonics seeks a program coordinator for the USAID-funded Resilient Waters Program (RWP).

This five-year program aims to build more resilient and water-secure Southern African communities and ecosystems by improving the management of transboundary natural resources and increasing access to safe drinking water and sanitation services.

The program coordinator will be based in Pretoria, South Africa. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinate activities and initiatives aligned with RWP’s work plan and key objective areas while ensuring effective integration of multidisciplinary approaches

Work closely with operations, grants, procurement, and finance teams to develop plans of action and timelines to ensure scheduled technical activities are implemented successfully and according to schedule

Collaborate with the technical team to plan and prepare concept notes and estimated budgets for program activities

Assist with drafting scopes of work and identifying short-term consultants

Contribute to the planning and implementation of the monitoring and reporting activities

Ensure program activities, technical developments, and achievements are shared with the communications specialist

Provide input on work plan development and quarterly, annual, and other progress reports

Qualifications:

Degree in public administration, management, or a related field

Five years of experience working on complex development programs in project management

Demonstrated management, planning, and coordination skills, including the skills to coordinate complex programs and work with multidisciplinary teams

Demonstrated capacity to work independently and in a collaborative environment as well as show initiative to lead and develop tasks to achieve results

Ability to travel occasionally on a short-term basis

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity

Fluency in English required
