Chemonics Gender Equality and Social Integration Consultant Jobs in Kenya
Chemonics seeks a gender equality and social integration (GESI) consultant to work with the SERVIR Support Activity, a joint initiative of USAID and NASA.
SERVIR helps developing countries improve environmental management and resilience to climate change by strengthening the capacity of governments and other key stakeholders by integrating Earth observation and geospatial technologies into development decision-making.
The SERVIR Support Activity provides technical and operational support to five regional SERVIR hubs, including SERVIR-Eastern and Southern Africa.
SERVIR-E&SA is implemented by the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD).
The consultant will develop and lead a series of virtual GESI sensitization and training workshops and develop a GESI strategy for the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD).
This position is remote, with an expected level of effort not to exceed 45 days over a five-month period.

Responsibilities include:
Design and lead a series of seven workshops to mainstream an understanding and recognition of GESI topics among RCMRD staff
Identify a workshop participant list for RCMRD management group, technical staff, and services staff
Design session outlines and content
Conduct and facilitate the first workshop series focused on introduction to GESI
Conduct and facilitate the second workshop series focused on the development of an RCMRD Gender strategy
Conduct and facilitate the third workshop series focused on the outcomes of the two initial workshops
Write up a workshop series report summarizing the findings from each session per group and subsequent action items
Draft an evaluation on the workshop series for participants that should focus on feedback to be used to guide drafting of a new GESI strategy for RCMRD
Share, collect and analyze evaluation outcomes/results
Draft an updated gender strategy for RCMRD based on the workshops and results of the evaluation
Qualifications:
Demonstrated
experience, preferably at least seven years, implementing gender-responsive programming and mainstreaming, with at least four of these years focused on gender mainstreaming at the institutional level
Demonstrated experience, preferably at least five years, creating and delivering capacity building activities across a range of stakeholders
Experience conducting assessments and developing guidelines and tools
Ability to conceptualize, develop, and implement training programs for various audiences
Demonstrated experience with evaluation and analysis of institutional programs and policies
Experience working in diverse communities and across social, economic, and cultural differences strongly preferred
Experience working in the Eastern and Southern Africa region preferred
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
Fluency in written and oral English
