CHAI Senior Associate, Supply Chain and Financing Jobs in Kampala

The Senior Associate - Supply Chain and Financing will provide technical support to Uganda’s Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Medical Stores to ensure access to medicines for people affected by HIV and other infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
Support national quantifications efforts, including pipeline planning, commodity gap analyses, and continuous monitoring of the funding for HIV Commodities and associated lab commodities
Identify supply chain bottlenecks through comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis, including field research and developing contingency mechanisms
Provide Ministry of Health Pharmacy Division and National Medical Stores with applied analytics support for decision making, including scenario modeling, cost-benefit analyses, and any other quantitative support required
Support the preparation of key reports to the Ministry of Health, National Medical Stores and development partners and other key stakeholders in the health commodities supply chain.
Coordinate information sharing and joint supply planning between the 4 major warehouses in Uganda
Work with Ministry of Health Pharmacy Division, Warehouses, Implementing Partners and National Drug Authority to introduce and roll out more optimal ARV medicines and technologies
Coordinate trainings and Continuous Medical Educations on new/more optimal formulations and updated guidelines
Work with Ministry of Health Pharmacy Division and National Medical Stores to improve Logistics coordination amongst lower level facilities, Implementing partners and District Health Teams.
Support Uganda AIDS Commission to develop and
implement domestic resource mobilization strategies and track resources for the HIV/AIDS response
Perform any other duties assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a health related field such as Pharmacy, Medicine or Business studies
At least 3 years’ experience working in health commodities management, public health, business, management consulting, finance or a related field
Advanced proficiency in computer packages such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Excellent analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and communication (written and verbal) skills
Practical project management experience
Experience in complex problem solving and stakeholder relationship management
Advantages:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Economics, Business or related field
Experience working in Africa and/or developing countries
Experience with Quantimed
Key Competences:
Guides subset of program development across related project areas
Advises on effectiveness of program, systems or procedures
Recommends initiatives and priorities within a defined program area
Flexible in achieving work objectives as necessary
Able to work independently with minimal oversight
Coordinates and establishes credibility with internal and department head level external stakeholders
