CCM (Comitato Collaborazione Medica) is an Italian NGO operating in Ethiopia, Kenya, and South Sudan, specialized in health-related projects’ implementation, either in humanitarian and development contexts.
CCM has conducted several interventions in South Sudan since 1983, working mainly in Warrap and Lakes States. CCM is currently leading agency for 2 HPF lots (19 and 6) in supporting local health institutions to manage: a) 2 Hospitals and 21 among Primary Health Care Centers (PHCCs) and Primary Health Care Units (PHCUs) in 2 counties of Greater Tonj (ex Warrap State); and 1 Hospital and 44 among PHCCs and PHCUs in Kapoeta North, East and South. This in order to improve primary and secondary health care services and contribute to meet the MoH priority targets, according to the national health strategies.
CCM is also responsible for the management of the Mother Teresa Hospital in Turalei (Twic County) within Lot 18.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Technical Officer will support the planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of CCM activities related to health system strengthening, nutrition and health promotion.
The Technical Officer supports the Country Representative and Lot Coordinators in monitoring of the projects and activities implemented in the Country.
The individual reports to the Country Representative and works functionally with the Operations Manager and Lot Coordinators.
Overall key Responsibilities
Provide day to day technical and programmatic support to Lot technical teams guided by strategies and approaches related to the implementation programs;
Support technical staff in all Lots to adapt and disseminate guidelines, tools and procedures that will support the achievement of quality service delivery;
Support the monthly collection, review and reporting of program data;
Validate an analyse the health services data collected through the national HMIS system, regularly update and maintain CCM internal data base promoting use of data for decision making;
Represent the organization in technical working groups and meetings with institutional counterparts and stakeholders, providing a technical support to
the Country Representative;
Assist in strengthening a system of reporting on program progress against stated objectives and monitoring and evaluation frameworks;
Assist in the provision of programmatic assistance to local partners in programming;
With support of the Lot Coordinators, coordinate the implementation comprehensive medical services at the facility level;
Provide technical assistance in clinical management capacity building and integrated medical services as the need arises;
Contribute to the development of lessons learned from programs and projects and apply these lessons to modify existing programs and improve the design of new programs;
Contribute to the development of program strategies, subproject documents, work plans and budgets;
Perform other duties related to above-mentioned tasks as assigned.
Job Profile
Requirements
Medical or nursing degree required;
3-5 years’ experience in providing technical assistance and/or capacity building in health programs especially in emergency settings;
Strong skills in writing technical reports and documents;
Ability to analyze and interpret data and prepare reports required;
Strong verbal and written, communication and presentation skills;
Must be able to read, speak and write fluent English;
Understanding of the political, social and cultural dimensions that impact public health programing in low, middle income countries;
Ability to support teams remotely;
Ability to support the management of project deliverables;
Ability to multi-task.
