CBM Finance Specialist; Project Budgeting Uganda Vacancies
Finance Specialist; Project BudgetingDates: 6 weekdays total, from 1st to 8th September 2017
PurposeCBM UK offers a financial consultancy position to work individually with 4 local implementing NGO partners in developing their activity-based project proposal budgets.
BackgroundThe NGOs will be working together in consortium to run a three-year Village Savings and Loans Groups project. A four-day joint NGO planning workshop will finish on 31st August just before this consultancy. Current draft NGO budgets will need considerable adaptations based on planning workshop outcomes, which will feed into one overall coherent project budget later in September.
Locations and travelDaytrip travel in Kampala is required across 3 NGO offices located within 8 km of each other to the South and West of Komamboga, as well as working remotely by phone and email to continue coordination and complete budget development.
OutputsA completed project proposal budget per NGO using a provided Excel template. This will include realistic, economical Ugandan unit and activity costs that are appropriately consistent across all 3 budgets.
Notes on the budgeting process that document the considerations and justifications of decisions taken within and across budgets, and alternative options available.
Ongoing emails and Skype communication with CBM UK
to clarify progress on the above outputs, including at the end of the consultancy.

RequirementsThe consultant will hold appropriate accounting qualifications, with strong negotiation skills and NGO project budgeting experience in Uganda.
Regarding travel, Ugandans/residents are encouraged to apply; it is desirable to be living in or near Kampala.
