CBM Regional Programme Finance Officer Jobs in Kenya
Main objective of the role: The position facilitates and offers technical support, training and capacity building on CBM and donor requirements to Country Offices and implementing partners to enable compliance and quality reporting standards on donor funds in line with CBM and donor agreements for the NTD programme portfolio in the AFES region.
The position holder will also ensure that NAV and SharePoint is regularly updated with reports, documents as required by CBM processes.
We are looking for someone who will
Guide Country Office to set up and maintain financial control processes to ensure that financial resources as used by partners are in compliance with CBM financial policies, standards and procedures, and with specific donor requirements and contracts and provide training/coaching as needed
Perform periodic audits or spot-checks of partner financial management and control systems
Enforce partner delivery of timely, complete and quality finance reports in line with CBM’s requirements, including annual financial statements; verify quality and provide feedback to partners
Give immediate notification of (critical) finance issues, and engage actively in the resolution of these issues
Support the Country office Programme Finance officer to monitor cash balances with partners in order to effectively reduce the risk of holding large sums of cash or idle cash
Support IEH/NTD Programme Team (as assigned) in all aspects of budget processes with partners, in line with CBM’s budget guidelines
Review progress of the implementation of recommendations by CBM, project auditors and other stakeholders through persistent follow ups, and provide technical back stopping to ensure quality and timelines are observed
Participate in quarterly monitoring visits, financial reviews and investigative audits of partners, and suggest corrective
action as appropriate on areas in partners’ financial systems and procedures that need improvement, in conjunction with the Country office teams
Support IEH/NTD Programme Team (as assigned) in all aspects of budget processes with partners, in line with CBM’s budget guidelines
We are looking for someone who has
A degree in a Finance related field (such as Business Management or Business Administration)
A professional accounting qualification (such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA) and Project Management knowledge is an asset
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position ensuring effective financial management, systems and controls, including institutional grant management, particularly with an international development organization
The spirit of being a team player with the ability and sensitivity to work with individuals from a variety of cultures, professions and personal backgrounds
The advantage of lived experience with disability
The ability to develop finance management capacity in others, and promote the importance of solid financial controls internally and to partners
Solid understanding of project cycle management
Demonstrated report writing skills and experience
Excellent priorization and organizational skills to meet deadlines
Profound written and verbal communication skills
