Catholic Medical Mission Board Field Finance Volunteers Jobs in Kenya
ResponsibilitiesDetermines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data.
Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions.
Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements.
Prepares financial statements, analysis and other key reports as necessary.
Oversees bank reconciliation, invoicing, and accounts receivable on a day-to-day basis.
Maintains accounting system to ensure the proper accounting and recording of company resources
Assists with other accounting duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years old.
Bachelor's degree in Finance from an accredited school of business.
Ability to analyze complex data and finance concepts and conduct presentations.
Advanced proficiency in PC based word and spreadsheet applications, including advanced functions such as graphics, pivot tables, macros and database management.
Solid understanding of reading balance sheets, completing profit and loss reports and managing cash flow
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Communication skills that includes strong business writing skills and data presentation skills.
Knowledge of professional and ethical standard of health care delivery and practice.
Familiarity and interest in global health issues, especially maternal and child health issues.
Willingness to endure resource-limited working conditions and evening/weekend hours.
Proficiency in English; strong communication skills.
French or Creole required for Haiti

Catholic Medical Mission Board Field Nurse Volunteers Jobs in Kenya
Responsibilities
Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
Teach to patients and families about topics such as: health education, disease prevention, childbirth and develop health improvement programs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Perform physical examinations, make tentative diagnoses.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Participate in training and instruction of students, auxiliary workers and community members.
Other duties as requested by supervisor and/or CMMB staff.
Qualifications
Must be 21 years old.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing.
Valid Registered Nurse License.
Capacity to administer treatment to
patients while dealing with them in a sympathetic and tactful manner.
Ability to recognize and interpret symptoms.
Ability and willingness to provide guidance to other nurses on staff.
Knowledge of professional and ethical standard of health care delivery and practice.
Ability to be flexible and prioritize projects and tasks effectively; self-starter; takes initiative.
Problem solver, able to identify needs, and develop solutions.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Familiarity and interest in global health issues, especially maternal and child health issues.
Willingness to endure resource-limited working conditions and evening/weekend hours.
Proficiency in English; strong communication skills.
Spanish fluency required in Peru.
French or Creole required for Haiti.

Responsibilities

Participate in training and instruction of students, auxiliary workers and community members
Instruct patients and families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth; develop health improvement programs
Perform examinations, order tests, and make tentative diagnoses and recommendations
Develop and update patient medical histories and progress notes
Collaborate with health specialists and civic groups to determine community health needs and co-develop need-based goals
Distribute health education materials
Assist with the planning and implementation of trainings for healthcare workers and community mobilizers
Implement initiatives to educate the community about health topics and resources
Participate in project site visits, project-related trainings and events
Other duties as requested by supervisor and/or CMMB staff
Qualifications
Must be 21 years old
Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current license to practice nursing
Community Health Worker Certification preferred
Minimum one year of experience in health care environment or community involvement
Experience in health care in developing countries preferred
Knowledge of professional and ethical standard of health care delivery and practice
