Catholic Hospital Wamba is a third tier mission hospital in Wamba, Samburu County.
Our mission is to live the healing mission of Christ within Samburu County and beyond.
CHW was begun in 1969 and is managed by the catholic diocese of Maralal.
Reports to: Medical Officer In-Charge
Duty Station: Wamba Hospital
Job Purpose: The job holder will provide care to patients in the hospital theatre and critical care units, and to any other patients who require acute medical intervention that may be provided by a Clinical anesthetist.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesAdminister anesthesia or sedation during medical and surgical procedures, using local intravenous, spinal or caudal methods to patients in hospital wards and in outpatient clinics undergoing various procedures outside the operating theatre.
Diagnose illness using examination tests and reports.
Admit patients requiring special care followed by investigations and treatment.
Promote and maintain life support and airway management and help prepare patients for emergency surgery.
Respond to any adverse occurrences e.g. injuries, falls, sudden illness by patients
Monitor patients before, during and after anesthesia and counteract adverse reactions and complications.
Examine patients, obtain medical history, and use diagnostic tests to determine risks during medical procedures.
Position patient on operating table to maximizes patient comfort and surgical accessibility.
Coordinate administration of anesthesia with surgeons during operation.
Confer with other medical professional to determine type and method anesthesia or sedation to render patient pain.
Decide when patients have recovered or stabilized enough to be sent to another room, ward or to be sent home following outpatient surgery.
Record type and amount of anesthesia and patient condition throughout the procedure.
Document review findings in clinical notes in a timely manner.
Transport acutely ill and injured patients.
Coordinate and direct work of nurses, medical technicians and other medical providers.
Liaising with medical and non-medical staff in the hospital to ensure quality treatment.
Perform related duties as required.
Qualification and Experience:
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery with a Higher Diploma in Anesthesia.
• Certificate of registration and valid practicing license from COC.
• Proven Clinical experience for a minimum of three years.

2. Catholic Hospital Wamba HR and Admin Assistant Job in Kenya
Reports to: Hospital Administrator
Duty Station: Wamba Hospital
Job Purpose: The job holder will provide a frame work for implementation of HR policies and a comprehensive administrative support to day-to-day operations of human resources and administration.
The Human Resource and Administrative Assistant will liaise closely with Diocesan Human Resources Officer, finance and accounts department and other departments throughout the organization in providing an effective HR support service to the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities;
Prepare and update employees’ files and records to meet regulations required.
Manage leave schedule and ensure employees proceed for leave.
Initiate, process, monitor, review and follow up on actions related to administration of human resource activities e.g. talent search an selection, training and development, performance appraisals and separation in relation to organization HR policies and procedures,
Interpret and implement HR and administrative policies and procedures.
Manage payroll and maintain accurate payroll records.
Administer and monitor new hire orientation and induction programs.
Participate in various committees.
Identify and report issues/ problems as they arise and recommend appropriate action.
Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reports are in compliance.
Keep up current issues and matters in the organization
related to HR department.
Manage sensitive and confidential matters like employee relations, organizational changes, planning and protecting the security of information, data and files.
Exercise individual judgment while dealing with potential or real troubles on own initiative and bringing them to administrator’s attention.
Providing general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, arranging meetings, composing regular correspondence, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines, and taking down minutes as needed.
Maintain contact list and details of all stakeholders.
Order office supplies and maintain inventory of same.
Qualification and Experience:
• Degree in Human Resource Management / Business Management or other related fields.
• Bea member of the Institute of Human Resource Management.
• A minimum experience of 2-3 years' as Human Resource and Administrative Officer preferably in a hospital.
• Knowledge of Kenyan Labour Laws.
• Must be proficient in computer applications.

Reports to: Medical Officer In-Charge
Duty Station: Catholic Wamba Hospital
Job Purpose: The job holder will provide services associated with preparation, storage and dispensing of pharmaceuticals.
Roles and Responsibilities;
Dispensing of drugs to patients.
Compute charges for medications dispensed and enter data.
Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortage.
Establish and maintain patients’ profiles, list of medication etc.
Maintain proper storage and security for drugs.
Answer calls, respond to questions and requests.
Pre and post pharmacy counseling.
Responsible for timely monthly reports.
Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medication and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocol
Organize medications for dispense by reading medication orders and prescription preparing labels; calculating quantities, assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
Perform related duties as assigned
Qualification and Experience:
• A Degree / Diploma A Pharmacy Technology from a recognized institution.
• At least two years in a busy Pharmacy
• Excellent knowledge of Pharmacy operations and procedures
• Ability to write and review SOP'S
• Must be duly registered.
