GIZ- GIZ Green Innovation Centre project is looking a qualified candidate as per the below details.
Responsibilities:
He/She is responsible for managing project cash accounting for 4 Projects.
He/She ensures sound, relevant accounting information systems and efficient and accurate processing of data to be uploaded into computerized accounting systems.
He/She is responsible for the:
Cash-book Accounting and all related tasks for four projects
Managing WHT, VAT and purchase & service claims in a timely manner
Ensures that the provided accounting services within the section are done correctly according to GIZ accounting procedures and guidelines.
Effective coordination with colleagues at the country office and projects
Tasks:
Handle petty cash accounts and make all cash and
check payments of the Program.
Make a timely cash replenishment request when the cash account reaches to the minimum balance
Monitor the daily cash flow records, the level of liquidity.
Make cash account reconciliations between WINPACCS, Cash Book and actual physical cash count balances.
Ensure that unused receipts and checks are kept in safe custody.
Follow-up and check the timely settlement of cash travel advances.
Process and issue Withholding Tax Receipt to the payer wherever applicable.
Compile VAT and purchase & service documents, prepare claim summary for sending to GIZ office and follow-up on the reimbursement.
Provide required documents for an auditor whenever Internal Control is conducted and assist on follow-up of auditor’s findings.
Deputize the Accountant when he/she is on leave.
Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the supervisor.
Report irregularities observed, if any, to the superior.
Treat information confidentially, specifically in the areas of personnel and finance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Completion of a college degree or similar in accounting, business management or equivalent.
3-5 years experience in similar occupations Advanced EXCEL skills.
Proven knowledge of English and Amharic language, written and spoken.
Knowledge of GIZ rules & regulations and systems is a plus
Capability of concise and coherent reporting along standard formats.
Trustworthiness and ability to maintaining strict confidentiality and observing data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
Ability to organize and prioritize several tasks at the same time.
Ability to work independently, unsupervised and as part of a multicultural and international team.
