CARE’s Flood Response in Garissa project is a six month project funded by the Danish Emergency Response Fund (DERF) through CARE Denmark. The project aims at
improving the living standards of 15,500 affected by floods in Dadaab and Fafi Sub Counties in Garissa County through improving their access to clean drinking water,knowledge on hygiene practices and sanitation standards.
There are two strategic objectives (SOs) that will guide the project:
Enhancing access to clean drinking water by supplying POU water chemicals
Promoting environmental health by improving hygiene practices and sanitation
standards
ENUMERATORS
Reporting to the Emergency Coordinator and the M&E Officer, the Data Collectors/Enumerators will undertake the following tasks:
Actively participate in a one day training workshop in Dadaab CARE Office prior
to 4 days actual data collection in the field.
Explain the vulnerability assessment and its purpose to all participants with who
s/he will interact.
Administer ‘informed consent’ to each participant/respondent as an ‘ethical
requirement’ in all surveys/studies and document consent or refusal.
Conduct the interview in a professional way, ensuring privacy and confidentiality
for each participant throughout the interview.
Undertake appropriate documentation of data as per the guidelines provided
Collect, safely keep filled data collection tools until he/she hands them over to the
survey supervisors
Perform any other duties as per the attached TOR form the consultant and any other as assigned by the supervisor/ Trainer.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Must be a Diploma holder but a degree or experience in such surveys will be an added advantage
Be fluent in both written and spoken English and local dialect
Must be computer literate and having good handwriting
Prior participation in project monitoring and evaluation will be an added
advantage
Be willing to accomplish each day’s work with the Emergency program team by
the end of each day, which may involve long working hours.
Terms of Payment
The enumerators will be paid as follows;
A daily stipend of ksh.2000 per day for each day worked successfully, including the training days.
Perdiem, Accommodation and incidental allowance of Ksh. 2000 for each night spend out.

NB: This is a short term one week engagement.
