A Finance and Administration Manager is sought for an anticipated USAID-funded project to establish high-quality, industry-endorsed training directly connected to employment opportunities in priority sectors in Kenya.
The purpose of the project is to improve the alignment between training at Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, and employment opportunities for youth in growing sectors of the economy.
This is a 4-year project expected to start in November 2023.
The position is full-time and based in Kenya.
The Finance and Administration Manager will be;
Responsible for the financial management of the award.
Ensure transparent and appropriate use of all U.S. Government funds.
Oversee all aspects of compliance, budgeting, financial management, and reporting; sub award management; procurement, human resources management, and the general administrative support in compliance with U.S. government regulations and policies.
The Finance and Administration Manager may be required to build capacity, oversee, and ensure accountability of sub-recipient(s).
At minimum, the Finance and Administration Manager shall have:
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration, finance, accounting or its equivalent from an accredited institution;
Relevant professional certification from an accredited accounting institution;
Five (5) years of relevant experience as a finance manager on a donor-funded project;
At least three (3) years of experience with USAID funded projects and understanding of USAID rules and regulations.
At least three (3) years of experience directly supervising administrative, finance, and/or operational staff;
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, financial reporting standards, financial management processes and procedures; demonstrated ability to implement effective workflow processes and procedures to monitor, evaluate, and report on the award implementation and expenditures;
Experience developing and/or maintaining financial management systems and budget tracking tools;
Experience with oversight of human resources functions, logistics, procurement, sub-awards and routine administrative office support is preferred; and
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally.
Necessary Additional Skills:
Progressively responsible experience managing complex donor-funded projects, preferably USAID-funded projects; and
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory work experience, including direct supervision of technical and/or non-technical (support) staff
