Are you eager to join forces with like-minded individuals to drive change and advocate for the rights of Nigerian youth? If so, the Youth Activators Lab (YAL) by the Network of Youth for Sustainable Initiative (NGYouthSDGs) is calling your name!

Unlocking the Potential of Young Change-Makers

The Youth Activators Lab is an exciting one-year program designed for 74 dynamic individuals aged 18 to 29. These young champions will collaborate closely with NGYouthSDGs to champion the cause of youth rights in Nigeria. At the core of NGYouthSDGs’ mission are education and capacity development, decent work and economic growth, and active citizenship.

YAL represents a significant evolution of the NGYouthSDGs Champions Programme, which first took flight in 2019. The 74 selected champions will stand shoulder to shoulder with NGYouthSDGs to advocate for meaningful youth involvement in policies and programs that enable young people to lead and thrive in Nigeria.

Driving Change Through Innovation

In the YAL program, champions, guided by NGYouthSDGs’ expert staff, will craft innovative campaigns centered on harnessing the agency of youth for sustainable development. They will engage with policymakers and youth stakeholders to champion the rights of young people in Nigeria. This is your chance to be part of a transformative movement, impacting lives and shaping the future of your nation.

Your Role as a YAL Champion

As a YAL champion, you will take on responsibilities that include:

  • Collaborating in the planning and execution of campaigns focused on youth rights.

  • Working alongside NGYouthSDGs to implement programs aligned with the organization’s theory of change.

  • Partnering with
    the NGYouthSDGs team to organize events and social media actions on United Nations commemorative dates.

  • Contributing to the NGYouthSDGs blog and policy briefs.

  • Identifying and mobilizing young advocates for youth rights.

  • Assisting NGYouthSDGs in identifying like-minded organizations in your community or state to deliver impactful youth-focused programs.

    Are You Eligible?

    To be part of this transformative journey, you should meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 29, embodying the spirit of an emerging leader.

  • Possess an understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and their potential to transform the lives of youth.

  • Be a resident of Nigeria.

  • Be available to dedicate 8 to 10 hours per month for the next year to make a difference.
