Busia County Jobs - Assistant Livestock Production Officer Vacancies

Pursuant to Article 235 (1) (b) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Section 59 (1) (b), of The County Governments Act No.17, 2012, The County Public Service Board of Busia invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill vacant positions in the Department of Agriculture and Animal Resources follows:

Job Title

Assistant livestock production officer IIIJ/G “H”

Job Specification/Requirements

Diploma in any of the following fields:- Animal Production, Dairy Science and Technology, Animal Science, Agribusiness, Animal Health and Production, Farm Management, Apiculture or Range/Natural Resource Management from a recognised Training Institution;

Certificate in computer applications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carrying out practical demonstrations relating to livestock production;

Collecting and collating livestock data and information;

Accompanying extension teams during farm visits and farmer trainings;

Participating in field days and agricultural shows to disseminate livestock production technologies and information;

Collecting and collating livestock data and information for gross margins,

Market access and planning;

Participating in collaborative research activities;

Collecting livestock inputs and products samples for analysis;

Advising farmers on group

formation, construction of farm structures and equipment’s.

Additional requirements

All applicants are expected to attach copies of the following additional documents

Tax Compliance Certificate

Clearance from HELB where necessary

Clearance from the Ethics and anti-corruption commission

Certificate of good conduct from the police
